Call to Artists:
The Pagosa Springs Arts Council is now accepting submissions for the PSAC Artist Member's Exhibit.
The exhibit will run October 7 - November 2, 2010

Any medium, 2 or 3 dimension
Entry Fee: $35 for 3 entries; $5 for each additional entry over three.
Members Only (You can always join!)
Commission: The PSAC will receive 30% of all sales.
Deadline: Artwork must be received by the PSAC, either in person, or via UPS, USPS, or FedEx by 5:00 p.m., September 30, 2010.

Note: If you are unable to personally deliver artwork to the PSAC office during business hours, you may drop it off at the Wild Spirit Gallery, Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m or Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Promotional images deadline: Please email high resolution images of your work (for promotional purposes) to Roxanne Schick no later than September 10th.

First Meeting of the Photo Club Year
The Pagosa Springs Photography Club will meet Wednesday evening, September 8, 2010 at Artisans of the Southwest Gallery, 175 Pagosa Street and 2nd in Pagosa Springs (next to Farrago’s). Socializing begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by photo critiquing, program and business meeting at 6:30 p.m. Please note the LOCATION.

Pagosa Photo Club president, T.J. Reynolds, will lead a critique of photos entered in the club annual exhibit. This will be done as a group rather than with specific judges. This critique will include the photo and presentation format of framing, matting, etc. Be sure to attend this enjoyable meeting.

The Photography Club meets the second Wednesday of each month during the club year from September through May at 6 p.m. and interested photography enthusiasts are welcome to attend at no charge for the first meeting. Any and all are invited to join for annual dues of $20 for single individuals and $30 for a family membership. For more information, contact Club president T.J. Photography Club Judged Exhibit
The 2010 Pagosa Springs Photo Club Judged Exhibit will open with an Artist’s Reception on September 9, 2010 from 4-7 p.m. at Artisans of the Southwest. The exhibit will run September 9 through September 30.
Entry Eligibility
Current Pagosa Springs Photography Club members and others who join for the 2010-2011 season. Interested photography enthusiasts are invited to join for annual dues of $20 for single individuals, $30 for family, or $10 for student membership. Submission
 Artwork submitted for judged consideration reasonable artist defined presentation.  A fee of $5 is charged for each entered artwork with a limit of three to five image entries per participant. Images previously exhibited in other Pagosa Springs shows are not eligible. One of these artworks will be judged for first $50 place awards. Preparation for Presentation

Each print shall be mounted artist presentation format. The print presentation will be part of judging criteria for the first place award.  Maximum framed artwork width shall be no greater than 30 inches. There is no limit for frame height as long as it is reasonable. The artwork must be supplied with hanging wire that is firmly attached to it. Framed photos must have screw eyes and wire hanger. Proceeds from the stamp kits will go toward operating PSAC's summer program events. The PSAC office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-5 p.m. These stamps will make great gifts and a fabulous way to market your business. Don't settle for generic stamps. Go wild and create your own!

Plein Air Painters
Plein Air Painters offers a wonderful opportunity for artists and art enthusiasts alike to share tips, ideas and resources. Painters who work in any media are welcome. Our schedule has changed and from now on we will meet on the 4th Thursday of the month.
If the weather is nice, the group paints outdoors. If the weather is bad, the group paints in the Community Center Arts and Crafts Room. (Please keep in mind that turpentine-based painting materials cannot be used in the Community Center.)

Photography Club

Watercolor Club
The Watercolor Club normally meets the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Community Center. Watercolorists of all levels are provided the opportunity to use the room for the day. Attending members contribute $5 for use of the space. Attendees should bring a bag lunch, their supplies and a willingness to have a fun creative day! New participants are always welcome.

PSAC EXHIBITS PROGRAM
The Pagosa Springs Arts Council encourages artists to participate in our exhibit program. From April through October we have monthly shows at the Pagosa Springs Town Hall Rotunda at 551 Hot Springs Blvd. Past shows have varied from the artwork of the advanced students from the Pagosa Springs High School to exhibits of artwork of internationally known artists. We welcome artwork of all media. Previous shows have included paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and other media as well as photography, jewelry, pottery, bronze, woodworking, fabric, etc. We review portfolios and select artists for each season as specified in the individual exhibit call to artists.
