These classes are fun and relaxed with no high pressure. All levels of
students are most welcome. You will receive a lot of personal attention
and assistance.
We will go out and photograph local snow subjects on Saturday, January
19 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a lunch break at a local restaurant
(We will gather in the Alco parking lot). If you can not make this date
it does not matter. There will be enough photos taken by Pierre for all
of the students.
Pierre’s works have been exhibited worldwide and are included
in the NASA fine arts collection and the Smithsonian National Air and
Space Museum’s collection. Some notable clients are: National
Geographic Society, Smithsonian Magazine, Look, Life, Popular Science,
Reader’s Digest, and Air & Space Magazines. He assisted Norman
Rockwell with several assignments and his works include several postage
stamps and postcards for the U.S. Postal Service. |
He is still painting nonstop, including taking commissions, teaching watercolor
workshops here in Pagosa and is locally represented in the Wild Spirit Gallery.
He has won numerous awards for his paintings and illustrations.
In addition to his art, Pierre Mion, has had other sides to his life. He raced
stock cars for one year, motorcycles for five years and sport and formula cars
for ten more years, winning three regional and two national championships.
Pierre has made five transcontinental motorcycle trips. He is a licensed glider
pilot, taught scuba diving, rode horses for several years, played football,
skied and currently is an avid four-wheeler and model railroader.
“ I want my students to discover the joy and excitement of doing
watercolors. I intend to give them my techniques of step by step ways to achieve
a finished painting. This class is for all ability levels and will be one-on-one
instruction.”
