ARTIST PROFILE - Jeanine Malaney, Vice President PSAC

Jeanine Malaney’s one-of-a-kind fabric collage paintings, watercolors and oil paintings have been exhibited in Arizona and Colorado. She is represented locally by Wild Spirit Gallery and sells internationally from her website www.PaintingsWithFabric.com. She is a member of the Pagosa Springs Arts Council, the Durango Arts Center, Colorado Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society.
Jeanine took art classes in college and has studied with Pierre Mion (illustrator for National Geographic, Jacques Cousteau, and NASA) and Tom Lockhart (Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters). Her preferred style is American Western Realism but she also enjoys abstractions of deep space telescopic landscapes. "My artwork acknowledges a lifelong spiritual affinity with mountains and the cosmos and celebrates the glory of God’s creation.”
Jeanine has a Bachelor’s degree in Theoretical Mathematics from Indiana University and graduate work in Computer Science. She retired in1999 from an exciting aerospace engineering career with Lockheed Martin. Jeanine and husband Dale moved to the cabin they built in Forest Lakes, Arizona. There she served on three community boards: the Domestic Water Improvement District Board; the International Lions Club Board; and the United Methodist Church Board of Trustees. Jeanine started the local book club and served as president of the local quilting club for two years. Jeanine and Dale moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in November 2004. Jeanine volunteered with Hospice of Mercy, Art in the Garden, the Methodist Church Council and serves on the Arts Council Board. Jeanine and Dale have five children and five grandchildren. |
